Consul General Abigail M. Rupp was a guest speaker at the Lions Club Bargello event celebrating the Lions Clubs’ 100-year anniversary. In her remarks, Consul General Rupp stressed the importance of raising awareness and engaging future generations in volunteer activities, talked about National Volunteer Week in the U.S. as well as her personal volunteer experiences, and noted that among the many shared values that bind the U.S. and Italy in close friendship is the shared spirit of volunteerism.
The Consul General spoke alongside the Hon. Stefania Fuscagni, who serves as the president of Lions Club Bargello; Olga Mugnaini, past president; and Carlo Bianucci, president of the Council of Governors for multidistrict 108 Italy.
