Event: On Saturday, June 6, 2020, beginning at 11:00am, a static demonstration and/or “sit in” is scheduled near the U.S. Embassy to protest racism.
Location 2: Piazza dei Santi Apostoli
Event: On Saturday, June 6, 2020, from 10:00am to 1:00pm, Casa Pound (a right-wing political movement) plans to protest the seizure of its historic Rome Headquarters after the group was evicted. Police will be present at the event and expect up to 300 participants.
Location 3: Circo Massimo/Circus Maximus
Event: On Saturday, June 6, 2020, beginning at 3:00pm, multiple demonstrations organized by “extreme” soccer supporters and right-wing political parties are planned to protest the COVID-19 response by the Italian government. Approximately 3,000 participants are expected. Police will be present and anticipate likely instances of public disorder and violence.
Location 4: Piazza Venezia proceeding to Piazza Santi Apostoli
Event: On Sunday, June 7, 2020, beginning at 11:00am, the group “Women of Color United” is planning a protest in honor of George Floyd and others.
Police report the possibility of additional spontaneous protests in Rome in the coming days.
