Minister Counselor for Public Affairs Gloria Berbena attends preview of Palazzo Strozzi’s Bill Viola Retrospective

Bill Viola at Palazzo Strozzi

March 8, 2017

Gloria Berbena attended a preview of Palazzo Strozzi’s new Bill Viola retrospective, “Electronic Renaissance.”  The retrospective featuring Viola, an unchallenged master of contemporary video art, will run from March 10 to July 23.  The exhibition is a celebration of Viola’s special relationship with Florence, where his career in video art began when he was technical director of art/tapes/22, a video production and documentation center, from 1974 to 1976.

His bond with Tuscan history and art is further enhanced by the exhibition’s intense interaction with museums and institutions such as the Duomo Museum, the Uffizi, and the Museum of Santa Maria Novella, as well as with the cities of Empoli and Arezzo.
