APPLYING IN PERSON
Applicants applying for passport renewal in person may either pick up their new passports in person at an appointed date and time or receive their new passport via DHL.
If you prefer to receive your passport via DHL after an in-person application, please complete the DHL One-Way Shipping order form before your appointment, print out the shipping label, and present the label to the passport agent on the day of your appointment. APPLYING BY MAIL
Applicants submitting their passport renewal application by mail must submit their completed applications and supporting documents with a two-way shipping order form found at the following link:
DHL Two-Way Shipping:
DHL delivery may be paid online via credit card, at a cost of €18 per segment. Delivery via DHL must be paid in advance. Applicants must print out the shipping label and bring it with them on the day of the interview. If multiple passport applicants reside at the same address, pay one DHL fee and the passports will be shipped together. On the day of delivery, someone must sign for the package but it may be left with a building manager or receptionist. If there is no one to sign for the package, the shipment will be left at the nearest DHL Service Point for seven days. DHL will send a daily SMS notification until the package is retrieved.
A note on insurance: If a new passport is lost while in transit we will replace at no extra cost. Given this, insurance is generally unnecessary.
