“We Can Do It!” U.S. Speaker Jessica Grounds in Salerno
Salerno, September 30, 2016

What are the barriers that women have to face to become leaders? What strengths do women leaders offer? How do we increase the number of women running for political office? These were the pivotal topics during a full-day program on September 30 at the University of Salerno, where U.S. speaker and women’s leadership expert Jessica Grounds spoke about Women’s Empowerment and the U.S. Presidential Elections.
Her first program #WomenPower served as a kick-off event for the university to launch a series of seminars on “Women’s Leadership and Active Citizenship” at the Center for Gender Studies and Equal Opportunities. Grounds shared her perspectives regarding women’s leadership and participation in the fields of politics, business, and entrepreneurship.
Her presentation was followed by a lively Q&A session in which she engaged with students, political science professors and upcoming women representing local political movements. In the afternoon, she discussed “Women, Politics & the U.S. Presidential Election” in a roundtable at the University’s School of Journalism, where she was also interviewed by journalism school students.
